Part of being a better mom is making a better world. One way we can do that is to not only be the best mom to our children that we can be, but to help others through service. If you have any suggestions or ways our group could serve our community that you would like to contribute, please contact us with that suggestion, we would love to hear it!
For our MOPS & MOMSnext service project for 2019-20 we are supporting the HayesTough Foundation. We are filling Easter baskets for each of the children battling cancer in the pediatric oncology unit at Primary Children’s Hospital (there are 42 beds, which are devistatingly always full!).

In 2018 – 2019, we hosted a baby shower where all gifts were donated to the Pregnancy Resource Center to help mothers in need.
We had a fun time celebrating motherhood together, but most importantly we were able to support mothers within our local community by donating items to the PRC “Baby Boutique.” The “Baby Boutique” is a shop where moms can choose baby items they need to help prepare for the arrival of their little one, from diapers to clothes and more.
In 2016 – 2017 we made 20 back packs for children coming into the Utah Foster Care System. In 2017 – 2018 we increased our goal and made 30 back packs! Each backpack contained: pajamas, underware, socks, a tooth brush, toothpaste, a blanket, a stuffed animal, a coloring book, a toy, and a snack. It may not seem like much to us, but to a child whose life just got flipped upside down it is a huge thing to know somebody, somewhere cared enough to give me these essentials!
In 2015 – 2016 we made wonderful bags for children who are coming through the Rescue Mission’s Women’s Center. These children are homeless and we wanted to bring something to them. The bags included a coloring book, crayons, stickers, a toy, a few snacks and some other wonderful things just for them.
In 2014-2015 we worked with the Pregnancy Resource Center of Salt Lake City. We made onesies as a gift to moms who are keeping their baby. We also wrote each mom an encouraging letter to help her as she begins her journey of motherhood or begins the journey with an infant again. The resource center offers a lot of benefits to struggling moms free of charge. Some of which include: pregnancy tests, limited ultrasounds, accurate information on all options, adoption assistance, material resources, and community networking for shelter and food.
Being in the thick of it all, we are always striving to love, encourage, and support one another. That being said, we strive to make a mom feel welcome, encouraged and supported. When a Mom is in need, whether it be sickness, new baby etc, we want to be there to support them through these tough times in any way we as a MOPS group can. Some of the best ways we can do this is through meals, cleaning their home, taking care of their children etc. If you are in need of assistance please contact us.
