Thank you to everyone who attended the Play Date this last Tuesday. We were able to get in a couple of solid hours of play time before the rain came in and even then a few of us stayed behind and had lunch. Now that Summer is upon us our leadership has planned some fantastic play dates to fill in our void until MOPS returns in September. We have three play dates and a moms night out coming up in June keep reading to find out the when, where, and what’s planned!
First, on June 9th we will have picnic and play at Veteran’s Memorial Park in West Jordan. If you have never been to this park you are in for quite a treat! We went last summer and Olivia kept calling it the big castle park; it is set up like an old west town so the kids have a ton of places to climb and play. Even though she was small last year and struggled to do some of the things on the huge play structure, (see photo above) she still had a blast in the toddler area and playing on the swings. Make sure to put on your sunscreen as there is minimal shade on the actual playground. There is a huge pavilion or shaded trees if we want to picnic on the ground just behind the playground. I hope it fits onto everyone’s calendar and you can come join us at 10 am on Tuesday, June 9th!
The next play date will be on June 23 at Mountain View Splash Pad and Park. The plan is to meet at the splash pad around 1 p.m. in hopes that the weather will cooperate and be warm enough to let the kids enjoy the water. If Mother Nature does not cooperate and get hot enough there are also two playgrounds here. One that is designed for toddlers and one that is designed for preschoolers on up. Either way make sure you put this fun event on your calendar!
Lastly, we have a kid friendly hike at silver lake on June 30th. The lake is encompassed by a nice boardwalk that makes it stroller accessible. I am planning on packing a lunch and eating at one of the many picnic tables that can be found around the lake. I learned last year to pack a light jacket when you head up the mountain because it is usually quite a bit cooler than here in the valley. I hope a lot of people join us for this fun easy hike so I can drop my pin in the bucket to mark it off our Summer Bucket List.
Now for our MOM’s night out because we work hard and all deserve a little time away from the kiddos and socializing with other mommies. We are going to be playing mini golf at Boondocks. Be watching for an Evite coming soon to your email; make sure to RSVP. If we have enough people coming we are going to try to negotiate a group discount with management! Currently the cost is $7 per game. The plan is to arrive at 7:30 and play a round of golf, if anyone would be interested in going out for dessert afterwards at a local restaurant let me know.
